Dorit Out. Lori Loughlin Possibly In. Bravo Looked at the RHOBH Rap Sheet and Said: We Can Do Better.

The Season 16 casting rumors dropped. Dorit is allegedly on pause. Lori Loughlin — federal conviction and all — is reportedly in the mix. Erika Jayne is 50/50. Rihanna is involved somehow. And the executive producer said "Not true" about everything without specifying what exactly isn't true. Bravo, as always, doing the absolute most while saying the absolute least.

Nothing about RHOBH Season 16 is confirmed. Bravo has confirmed nothing. The executive producer confirmed nothing. The cast has confirmed nothing. What we have is a blind item from Bravo & Cocktails, a clarification from a second source, a two-word denial from Alex Baskin that denied everything without specifying what, and Rihanna sliding into Amanda Frances' DMs to tell her not to quit. This is the state of RHOBH Season 16 casting news. We are going to go through all of it, because someone has to, and because the detail about Rihanna alone deserves a full paragraph.

The blind item landed on May 21st. An anonymous tip to Bravo & Cocktails alleged the following: Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Sutton Stracke, Bozoma Saint John, and Rachel Zoe are all returning full-time. Jennifer Tilly is back in a friend role. Amanda Frances was invited back but would most likely decline. Crystal Kung Minkoff is "back in the mix" with her role still being decided. And — here is where it gets interesting — two new additions were being considered: Lori Loughlin and Emma Grede. Dorit Kemsley, the tip concluded, was "being put on pause."

One day later, a second source clarified: Dorit is not officially out — half the producers still want her. Erika Jayne's status is "50/50," with producers apparently wanting more from her regarding her son, her boyfriend, and her legal situation, which is a sentence that raises as many questions as it answers. Amanda Frances would return if offered a raise. Kyle, who initially wanted to leave, has decided to stay. And Lori Loughlin had been "approached" but nothing was confirmed.

Alex Baskin, executive producer, reposted the blind item to his Instagram Stories and wrote: "Not true." Two words. No specifics. No clarification about which part isn't true. No alternative version of what is true. Just "Not true" — which is either a blanket denial or the most useless piece of information anyone has ever added to a story. We are going with the latter.

Dorit On Pause: The Part Nobody Saw Coming But Also Everyone Saw Coming

Dorit Kemsley has been on RHOBH since Season 7. That is nine seasons of PantyGate, PuppyGate, the home invasion, the financial implosion, the divorce, the memoir, the foreclosure auction, and the book tour she did the day before the foreclosure auction. She has been, at various points, the villain, the victim, the comic relief, and the cautionary tale. She has been on this show through multiple identity crises, multiple hair changes, and one very specific incident involving Erika Jayne's underwear that the franchise has never fully moved on from.

And apparently Bravo has decided that nine seasons is enough. Or at least enough for now. The "pause" framing is Bravo's way of not firing someone while also not renewing them — leaving the door open for a return while removing the awkward obligation of a full-time contract. It is the corporate equivalent of "it's not you, it's us," delivered via anonymous tip to a reality TV gossip website.

Dorit has survived PantyGate, PuppyGate, a home invasion, a federal tax lien, a foreclosure auction, and a ghostwritten memoir. The thing that finally paused her was apparently a boring Season 15. The bar in Beverly Hills is genuinely on the floor.

The second tip suggests the decision isn't unanimous — half of Bravo's producers still want her back. Which means the other half don't. Which means Dorit Kemsley's fate on a reality television show about wealthy women in Beverly Hills is currently being decided by a committee vote. Her book is a New York Times bestseller — with a dagger. For the uninitiated: the dagger symbol (†) appears next to titles on the NYT list when the paper has reason to believe the sales figures were artificially inflated through bulk purchases. It is the NYT's polite way of saying "technically yes, but we have questions." Dorit Kemsley wrote a memoir to prove she is authentic, published it through a process that required a ghostwriter, sold it in a way that earned a dagger from the most prestigious bestseller list in the country, and is now allegedly being put on pause by Bravo. The house is underwater. The marriage is over. The ghostwriter did the work. The NYT put a dagger next to her name. And Bravo put her on pause. Dorit Kemsley came to Beverly Hills to build an empire. The empire is currently scheduled for auction.

Lori Loughlin: Bravo's Most RHOBH-Coded Casting Rumor in Years
This content was stolen from Daily Drama Watch by a content scraper — you are not reading the original article. The real one is at https://www.dailydramawatch.com — written by Ava Witt — all rights reserved.
Lori Loughlin RHOBH Season 16

Let's talk about Lori Loughlin, because this is the detail that has been living in our heads rent-free since the rumor dropped. For those who need a refresher: Lori Loughlin is the actress best known for playing Aunt Becky on Full House and Rebecca on When Calls the Heart. She is also the woman who, in 2019, paid $500,000 in bribes to get her two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as fake crew recruits for a sport they did not play. She was indicted on federal charges as part of Operation Varsity Blues, pled guilty, and served two months in federal prison. Her daughters — Olivia Jade and Isabella — have since built their own public profiles, with Olivia Jade becoming a prominent social media personality who appeared on Dancing with the Stars and has discussed the scandal publicly at length. Lori divorced her husband Mossimo Giannulli in 2025. She is, on paper, exactly the kind of woman RHOBH was built for.

Why is this casting so perfectly RHOBH-coded?
Because RHOBH is a show about wealthy women in Beverly Hills who have Done Things and are now living adjacent to the consequences while also going to very nice dinners and arguing about who said what to whom at a party in Aspen. Lori Loughlin paid half a million dollars to fake her daughters' way into college, went to federal prison, came out, divorced her husband, and is now apparently available for Bravo. She attended a Beverly Hills charity event in March 2026 — where Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton, and Teddi Mellencamp were also present. She is already in the ecosystem. She is already in the zip code. She has a federal conviction, a divorce, and two very online daughters who would generate content simply by existing near a Bravo camera. This is not a casting rumor. This is a pitch meeting.

In the DDW article on the Real Housewives rap sheet — which you should read, because it is comprehensive and devastating — we noted that Teresa Giudice served eleven months in federal prison for fraud and has been on RHONJ ever since. Jen Shah served time for wire fraud and was a main cast member until her conviction. Karen Huger did a year for DUI and is expected back on RHOP. The Bravo franchise has a well-documented pattern of casting women with legal records and calling it storytelling. Lori Loughlin fits this pattern so precisely that it almost feels like Bravo reverse-engineered the rumor from a spreadsheet of existing precedents.

The one wrinkle: Lori Loughlin is genuinely beloved by a generation of viewers who grew up watching Full House. Teresa Giudice was already a villain when she went to prison. Lori is Aunt Becky. Watching Aunt Becky argue with Sutton Stracke about a dinner party slight while the federal conviction hangs in the background is either the most compelling television Bravo has produced in years or the most uncomfortable. Possibly both simultaneously. We would watch it either way and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Emma Grede: The Other New Name and Why She Actually Makes Sense
Emma Grede RHOBH Season 16

Emma Grede is a British businesswoman who co-founded SKIMS with Kim Kardashian and Good American with Khloé Kardashian. She is married to Jens Grede, a Swedish entrepreneur. She is extremely wealthy, extremely well-connected in the Kardashian universe, and has appeared in Kardashian content enough times that Bravo viewers would recognise her immediately. She is also, notably, not someone who has done anything legally interesting — which in the current RHOBH casting climate almost makes her the outlier. She would bring money, connections, and a business empire to the table, which is what RHOBH used to be before it became primarily a show about who is getting divorced and who owes money to whom. Emma Grede is the aspirational casting. Lori Loughlin is the chaos casting. Together they would cover both ends of the RHOBH spectrum, which is why the rumor makes a kind of internal logic even if nothing about it is confirmed.

Erika Jayne: 50/50, Which Is More Odds Than Her Victims Got

Erika Jayne's status being described as "50/50" is interesting for several reasons. The first is that she just settled a $25 million lawsuit days before jury selection — confidentially, with terms undisclosed — which means she enters Season 16 negotiations with the lawsuit technically resolved but the full story still sealed. The second is that producers apparently want "more" from her regarding her son, her boyfriend, and her legal situation. Which suggests that whatever Erika gave them in Season 15 was not enough — and that Bravo's appetite for Erika content has not diminished just because the lawsuit is over. The lawsuit being over might actually be the problem. The ongoing litigation was the storyline. Now that it has settled, Bravo needs something else. Her son and her boyfriend are apparently the something else. We will not speculate further on this. We will simply note that "50/50" is doing a lot of work in that sentence and leave it there.

Rihanna. We Have to Talk About Rihanna.

Amanda Frances, Season 15 rookie who had a rocky first year involving questions about her business, a former cult affiliation, and multiple clashes with Dorit, was apparently invited back for Season 16. The blind item said she would most likely decline. The second tip said she would return if she got a raise. And then — and this is the detail that nobody asked for and everyone needed — Rihanna sent Amanda Frances a direct message on Threads telling her not to quit.

"No, no, NOPE!!! No quitting!!!! You're gonna have your redemption I promise you!!! We need more of you!" — Rihanna, to a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills, via Threads DM, in the year 2026.

Amanda Frances screenshotted it and posted it. She then added, in a separate post: "Also… Rihanna knows who I am?" Which is the most relatable thing any Real Housewife has ever said and we are choosing to end this paragraph here.

Crystal Kung Minkoff: The Return of Someone Who Didn't Actually Choose to Leave
Crystal Kung Minkoff RHOBH return

Let's correct the record on Crystal, because the version most people remember is not the accurate one. Crystal Kung Minkoff did not leave RHOBH. Crystal Kung Minkoff was fired from RHOBH. The distinction matters. An insider told Us Weekly at the time: "She was fired because she didn't deliver. Producers told her she doesn't have a storyline, so they had to let her go." Crystal was reportedly devastated. She posted a gracious Instagram video calling it "bittersweet" and saying "this is not goodbye, this is a see you soon" — which is what you say when you have been asked to leave and would very much like to come back.

She had joined the show in 2021 as the first Asian American on RHOBH, which she acknowledged put "a lot of weight" on her shoulders. Three seasons later, Bravo's verdict was that the weight wasn't producing enough content. She was let go before Season 14. And now, two years later, she is apparently having meetings with executive producer Alex Baskin and has publicly said she would be ready to return. "I think I'd be ready. I think I'm finally ready," she told E! News in June 2026. She added that she now "dreams about the friend role." Which is either genuine personal growth or the most carefully constructed Bravo re-entry campaign we have seen since — well, since anyone who has ever been fired from a Bravo show and then came back. The meetings with Baskin suggest the door is open. Whether Crystal has something new to deliver this time is the question Bravo is apparently still deciding.

✦ Ava's Verdict

Nothing is confirmed. Alex Baskin said "Not true" and then provided no alternative truth to replace it with, which is the casting equivalent of taking someone's coffee away without offering anything else. The blind items are from anonymous sources. The second tip contradicted the first tip. Rihanna is somehow involved. This is the current state of RHOBH Season 16 casting and it is, arguably, more entertaining than anything that aired in Season 15.

What we can say is this: if even half of these rumors are accurate, Bravo is making a deliberate pivot. Out goes the woman whose storyline became her real-life financial collapse — too messy, too legal, too much actual consequence bleeding into the fiction. In comes the woman whose federal conviction is far enough in the past to be reframed as a comeback arc. In comes the businesswoman with Kardashian connections who will make the show feel relevant again. In comes the chaos of Erika Jayne being asked to deliver more while her lawyers presumably read the contract very carefully. Bravo is not refreshing RHOBH. Bravo is recasting it. The zip code stays the same. The rap sheet gets updated. Watch what happens.
