Nathan Gallagher Assault: What the Police Facts Really Say.
He told Rolling Stone the public hadn't heard the full story. The Daily Mail obtained the police facts. Well. Here it is.
For nine months, Nathan Gallagher's arrest was a secret. While Bravo packaged his romance with Gael Cameron into a tidy love story arc — reconciliation, new baby, yachting career versus fatherhood — police in New South Wales were sitting on a file that told a very different story. When the arrest finally became public last week, Gallagher's response was to issue a statement to Rolling Stone complaining that the world was judging him without knowing the full picture.
"I don't believe the public has heard the full story surrounding what happened," he said.
He was right about one thing: we hadn't. But we have now. Because the Daily Mail obtained the police facts. And they are as bad as anything I have read about a reality TV cast member in a long time. Not tabloid-bad. Court-document bad. The kind of bad that doesn't leave room for "there are two sides to every story."
BOXING DAY. 3AM. A BABY ON THE BED. — What the Court Documents Reveal.
It was the night of December 26, 2025. Nathan Gallagher, 27, and Gael Cameron, 29, were at her apartment in Melrose Park, 12 kilometres north-west of Sydney's CBD. They'd had about a bottle of wine between them. Their relationship, according to NSW Police, was "on-again, off-again." Their son Kayden was six months old.
Around midnight, a verbal argument began. Gael went to the bedroom and asked Nathan to sleep in the other room. He ignored her, followed her in, and the argument resumed. Then, according to police, he became violent.
Court documents reveal the sustained assault unfolded between 3am and 7am — four hours, mostly in the bedroom of Gael's unit. Four hours.
Gallagher used one hand to cover the mouth and nose of the victim. The victim tried to pull away and Gallagher persisted, continuing to cover her mouth so that the victim was unable to breathe at certain points.
When Gael tried to scream and tell him she couldn't breathe, he became, in the words of the court documents, "increasingly aggressive." She fell to the floor of the bedroom — between the bed and the wardrobe — while trying to break free, clinging to the edge of the bed. The edge of the bed where their six-month-old son was lying.
He then used both hands to cover her mouth. He wrapped his legs around her body to hold her down and prevent her from making noise or moving. When she managed to drive her elbow into his mouth in a desperate attempt to get him off her, it only made him angrier.
She believes Gallagher did not want her to be heard by the neighbours. While preventing the victim from breathing and making noise, he held the victim down on the bedroom floor, wrapping his legs around the victim to better control her.
— NSW Police Court DocumentsThis went on for hours. Not a shove. Not a grabbed wrist. Four hours of sustained physical restraint, asphyxiation, and control — while a baby lay on the bed beside them.
THE BRAVO VERSION VS THE POLICE VERSION — What the Audience Was Shown.
Here is what makes this story uniquely disturbing in the reality TV context: Bravo was actively airing this relationship. Season 11 of Below Deck Mediterranean — filmed after the arrest — featured Nathan and Gael's "transition into parenthood" as a central storyline. Viewers watched him get emotional in confessionals. They watched Captain Sandy meet baby Kayden. They watched Nathan joke about affording diapers.
All of this while a warrant for his arrest existed in Australia. All of this while Gael had been the victim of a four-hour assault in her own home, with her infant on the bed beside her.
The network knew about his arrest. The audience largely did not.
THE FULL TIMELINE — Nine Months of Silence. Then a Conviction in Absentia.
THIS WAS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT — Two Countries. Two Warrants.
Because here is the other thing the public didn't know: Australia is not the only country looking for Nathan Gallagher.
According to Page Six, there is also a bench warrant for his arrest in Ireland — issued in 2025 after he failed to appear at Dungloe District Court. The charge? Assaulting another man in the town of Dungloe on August 7, 2022. That is three years before the attack on Gael. A different country. A different victim. The same pattern of not showing up to face consequences.
Two countries. Two warrants. One man who keeps telling the world it just doesn't understand him.
HE SAID "THE FULL STORY" — So Let's Talk About What That Means.
I want to return to that Rolling Stone statement, because it deserves to be read in full light of what the police facts contain. Nathan Gallagher — a man who, according to court documents, pinned a woman to the floor by wrapping his legs around her and covered her mouth with both hands until she couldn't breathe — told a major publication that people were being unfair to him.
He left the country before his hearing. He was convicted in absentia. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. And his public-facing move was to cast himself as misunderstood.
Gael Cameron, meanwhile, showed up. She walked into Sydney's Burwood Local Court on Tuesday with two supporters and gave evidence against the father of her child. She didn't speak to reporters. She didn't issue statements to magazines. She just did what she came to do.
He told a magazine no one had heard the full story. She walked into a courtroom and told it.
— Ava Witt, DDWWHAT BRAVO OWES ITS AUDIENCE — And What It Owes Gael Cameron.
The network has not issued a statement as of this writing. Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 aired with Nathan Gallagher in a prominent role, his romance with Gael Cameron framed as the emotional heart of the season. Viewers invested in that story. They were not told that one half of that love story had been arrested for strangling and asphyxiating the other half nine months earlier.
That is not just a PR problem. It is a question of what networks owe their audiences — and what they owe the women whose real lives they turn into content.
Gael Cameron's life was packaged as entertainment. Her safety, her apartment, her infant son on the bed beside her — that was not part of the storyline Bravo chose to tell.
Nathan Gallagher wanted the world to hear the full story. The full story is in the police facts, the court documents, and the arrest warrants — in two countries. It is not complicated. It is not a matter of perspective.
Gael Cameron showed up to court. He didn't. That tells you everything you need to know about who believes in accountability here — and who doesn't.
