Mauricio Umansky Still Loves Kyle Richards. Just Not Enough to Stay Married. Or Get Divorced.
Three years apart, a revolving door of dating rumors, family holidays together and still no divorce papers. Welcome to Beverly Hills, where even breaking up requires a five-year business plan.
Just when we thought Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky had settled comfortably into their very unusual version of separation, Mauricio decided to remind everyone that he still loves his wife.
Yes, his wife.
Because despite separating in 2023, living apart and exploring life with other people, these two are still legally married. Three years later. In Beverly Hills. Where people get divorced faster than they get a table at Nobu.
In an October 15, 2026, interview with E! News' Hot Goss, Mauricio was asked about his relationship with Kyle.
She's my best friend, she's the mother of my kids, we loved each other, we love each other.
— Mauricio Umansky, E! News' Hot GossWell, that's lovely.
And slightly confusing, considering Mauricio's post-separation dating life has generated enough paparazzi photos to fill a family album. Just not the kind you'd show Grandma.
But before anyone starts chilling the champagne for a reconciliation party, Mauricio wasn't announcing that he and Kyle were getting back together.
In fact, he doesn't seem entirely sure what's happening himself.
And judging by the last three years, neither does anyone else.
THE PAPERWORK — Three Years Apart and Still No Divorce. Is Someone Waiting for a Coupon?
Kyle and Mauricio married in 1996, back when Beverly Hills marriages were still expected to outlast a Housewives friendship. Admittedly, a low bar.
For 27 years, they were one of Bravo's most recognizable couples. While other Housewives were busy exposing affairs, hurling accusations and dividing assets on camera, Kyle and Mauricio seemed to have the perfect arrangement.
A beautiful home, four daughters, successful careers, fabulous vacations and enough money to ensure nobody ever had to argue over whose turn it was to clean the bathroom.
In July 2023, news of their separation broke.
And that's when things got strange.
Mauricio eventually moved out. They started living separate lives. The dating rumors followed right on schedule.
But the divorce?
Apparently, nobody remembered to put that on the calendar.
In March 2026, Kyle confirmed they still hadn't filed any paperwork and weren't legally separated. She acknowledged they couldn't stay in this limbo forever.
That was in March.
It's now October.
Mauricio sells houses for a living. His company can close a $50 million deal in a few weeks. A divorce filing, apparently, is the one transaction that keeps falling out of escrow.
At this rate, their grandchildren might be old enough to serve the papers.
WHAT WENT WRONG — Kyle Has Dropped More Hints Than a Murder Mystery.
One of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding this separation is what actually happened.
Kyle has been leaving us clues for years. Unfortunately, she's also been guarding the full story like it's the nuclear launch codes.
At the Season 13 RHOBH reunion, Kyle admitted that years of infidelity rumors had affected her trust in Mauricio. She also revealed that something had happened that contributed to her losing confidence in the marriage.
Something.
That's all we got.
Andy Cohen tried to pry loose a few more details, but Kyle wasn't about to hand over the family secrets just because someone asked nicely on national television. She explained that she wanted to protect her family.
Fair enough.
But telling millions of Bravo viewers that something happened and then refusing to say what is like dropping a steak into a shark tank and asking everyone to stay calm. The speculation machine went into overdrive, and it hasn't come back to idle since.
To be clear, Kyle has never publicly confirmed that Mauricio cheated, and Mauricio has denied that infidelity caused their separation.
Still, Kyle has spoken about inappropriate attention from women, flirty social media messages and the changes that came with Mauricio's growing fame, success and ever-expanding ambitions.
The Agency expanded. The money grew. The attention increased. Buying Beverly Hills happened. And somewhere along the way, the marriage stopped working.
Kyle has suggested their lives might have turned out differently if they'd chosen a quieter existence.
Which is a fascinating theory from a woman who has spent fifteen years starring on RHOBH. Choosing the Real Housewives as your path to privacy is a bit like choosing Times Square for a nap.
THE SINGLE LIFE — Mauricio's Passport Has Been Very Busy.
While Kyle was busy giving carefully worded interviews, Mauricio appeared to embrace his newfound freedom with considerable enthusiasm.
And the paparazzi were more than happy to document it.
In July 2024, Mauricio was photographed kissing actress and model Nikita Kahn in Mykonos. A romantic Greek island, turquoise water, a younger woman and cameras conveniently nearby.
Subtlety was not on the itinerary.
By December 2024, he was making headlines again after being photographed getting cozy with model Klaudia K in Aspen. Aspen, for the record, is also where his family was spending the holidays. Multitasking at its finest.
In 2025, speculation followed his outings with other women, including reality TV personality CJ Franco.
To be fair, not every woman photographed next to Mauricio was necessarily his girlfriend. Some of them may simply have been standing near a man with very good real estate listings.
But his dating life has certainly kept the entertainment press well fed.
At one point, Mauricio openly admitted he was enjoying being single. And why not? He was separated, wealthy, successful and discovering that dating in your fifties involves significantly more photographers than dating in your twenties.
Kyle, meanwhile, had developed her own very efficient tracking system.
At BravoCon in November 2025, she said they live separate lives, that everyone had seen Mauricio dating, and that she didn't really want to know the details.
And I can just look at TMZ and find out anyway.
— Kyle Richards, BravoCon 2025Honestly, that's probably more reliable than asking him.
Who needs a marriage counselor when you have push notifications?
AND OF COURSE — There's Morgan Wade.
Kyle's love life has been considerably more mysterious.
While Mauricio's romances practically come with photographic evidence and a travel itinerary, Kyle has preferred the occasional cryptic comment and a whole lot of silence.
During RHOBH Season 15, she acknowledged that she had fallen deeply in love with someone after the separation.
Who?
Excellent question.
Kyle didn't say.
Naturally, viewers immediately thought of country singer Morgan Wade, whose close friendship with Kyle has fueled speculation for years. And just when everyone thinks the rumors have finally quieted down, the two are spotted together again and the whole cycle restarts.
At this point, RHOBH fans have analyzed their outings, photos and body language so thoroughly that several of them could open their own detective agencies. Some already have the corkboard and the red string.
Are they romantically involved? Just very close friends? Something else entirely?
Nobody outside their private circle can say for certain, and neither of them has publicly confirmed a romantic relationship. Which is entirely their right.
But the continued sightings haven't exactly convinced fans to retire their magnifying glasses.
So let's recap. Kyle has a mystery romance she won't name. Mauricio has a dating life you can follow on Page Six. And they're still married.
This marriage has more unanswered questions than a season finale of The Traitors.
THE HOLIDAYS — The Family That Celebrates Together Apparently Never Divorces.
Here's where things become genuinely fascinating.
Despite living separately and having their own romantic lives, Kyle and Mauricio continue to behave like a remarkably close family.
They spend holidays together. They celebrate birthdays together. They show up for the big family moments with their daughters. And judging by their social media, they seem perfectly comfortable doing it.
In December 2024, the family spent time together in Aspen, while Mauricio's romantic activities were drawing attention during that very same trip.
At Thanksgiving 2025, Mauricio joined Kyle, their daughters and other family members at the Encino house. There he was, relaxing on the couch, looking less like an estranged husband and more like a man who'd stepped out for milk eighteen months ago and just wandered back in.
Christmas and New Year's brought more family time. And in June 2026, Bravo reported yet more celebrations bringing Kyle and Mauricio together with the girls.
Honestly, some married couples see less of each other.
The remarkable thing isn't that they still love their family. That's entirely understandable, and frankly, rather lovely.
It's that they've managed to keep almost all of the old family life while quietly removing the actual marriage part.
Separate homes. Separate love lives. Shared turkey.
Perhaps they've finally cracked the secret to a happy marriage.
Don't live together.
THE ANNIVERSARY — Thirty Years, One Text, Zero Clarity.
And just when the situation seemed almost straightforward, Mauricio managed to complicate it with a little romance.
On Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Kyle revealed that Mauricio had texted her on what would have been their 30th wedding anniversary. According to Kyle, he wrote that it was always such a hard day, that he loved her, and that he didn't know how they got there.
Kyle said the message set her off.
I thought we were stronger than that, you know? I really had thought that.
— Kyle Richards, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls TripIt was a genuinely touching moment, and the clearest reminder that underneath the dating rumors, the Aspen vacations and the reality TV drama, these are two people who shared nearly three decades of their lives.
But there was another detail in that emotional conversation that makes Mauricio's latest declaration even more interesting.
Kyle admitted she hoped the pain of their separation would eventually fade once they were divorced.
Unfortunately, Vicki Gunvalson wasn't exactly delivering the encouraging news Kyle needed. Vicki explained that even years after her own divorce, certain dates could still bring back painful memories.
So while Mauricio is telling E! News how much he still loves Kyle, she has already spoken about divorce as something that might help her finally move forward.
One of them is talking about love. The other has talked about closure.
And somehow, neither has called a divorce attorney.
At this point, the marriage isn't on hold. It's been placed in long-term storage.
Still, Mauricio has a rather interesting way of demonstrating that he's moved on.
First came Mykonos, then Aspen, followed by enough dating headlines to keep TMZ comfortably employed.
Fast-forward to 2026, and Mauricio is sending emotional anniversary messages and publicly declaring his love for Kyle.
Apparently, the single life and sentimental nostalgia aren't mutually exclusive.
Someone should probably ask him whether he's trying to win Kyle back or simply defending his title as the world's most affectionate estranged husband.
THE BIG QUESTION — Does Mauricio Actually Want Kyle Back?
That's the million-dollar question.
Or, given Beverly Hills real estate prices, the $20 million question. Before closing costs.
In his October 15 interview, Mauricio stressed how much Kyle still means to him. He talked about respect, dignity and the importance of keeping a healthy relationship after a separation.
All very mature.
Almost suspiciously mature for a Bravo storyline.
But when asked about their future, he didn't announce a reconciliation. He said they were taking things one day at a time, and joked that he couldn't give answers about an outcome he didn't know himself.
Three years in, "one day at a time" is a bold strategy. That's roughly 1,100 days at a time, and counting.
Kyle has previously indicated that Mauricio never directly asked her to get back together, even though she believed he regretted parts of the separation.
And that's what makes his latest declaration so intriguing.
Saying you love someone isn't necessarily the same as saying you want to be married to them.
Especially when you're enjoying the perks of single life while still spending Thanksgiving on your wife's couch.
THE ARRANGEMENT — Maybe They've Figured Out Something the Rest of Us Haven't.
There is, of course, another possibility.
Maybe Kyle and Mauricio are perfectly happy with their arrangement.
They no longer have to deal with the daily frustrations of marriage. They can pursue their own interests, spend time with whomever they choose and keep the family traditions they've built over three decades.
No messy public divorce battle. No bitter lawsuits. No dramatic court filings over who gets the Christmas decorations.
Just two people living separate lives while continuing to share the parts of their relationship that still work.
And maybe that's exactly what they want.
Of course, that still doesn't explain why neither has filed for divorce.
Maybe there's an emotional reason. Maybe there are practical ones. When you've built a real estate empire, a TV career and a family together, untangling it all is not exactly a weekend project.
Or maybe, after 30 years together, neither of them is particularly excited about the paperwork.
Three years after separating, Mauricio is still calling Kyle his best friend and saying he loves her. Kyle keeps him close while keeping her own love life under lock and key. Their daughters still get holidays with both parents.
And the divorce lawyers? They're still waiting for the phone to ring.
Maybe Kyle and Mauricio have discovered the perfect modern marriage. Or maybe they're simply two people who haven't quite figured out how to say goodbye.
Either way, the only thing more shocking than a reconciliation at this point would be an actual divorce filing. 🍷
Is there still love between Kyle and Mauricio, or have they simply become the world's friendliest separated couple? And do you think we'll ever see those divorce papers? Drop it in the comments. 👇
