MAFS Australia Season 14: Everything We Know So Far.
Filming is already underway. No cast, no trailer, no dinner party footage to dissect yet — but plenty of context about what Nine promised to fix, what the regulators actually found, and what to expect when Season 14 lands in early 2027.
Season 13 of MAFS Australia wrapped in mid-April 2026. Final Vows aired April 7. The Reunion Finale landed April 13. And Scott McCristal hard-launched a new girlfriend three weeks later while his MAFS divorce was still technically processing. The seat was warm. The Instagram was ready. The caption wrote itself.
Channel Nine did not pause for breath. Season 14 is already filming, the cast is being kept tightly under wraps, and 2027 is shaping up to be another spectacular experiment in controlled chaos. Whether the chaos is actually controlled this time is a different question entirely — and one we will get to.
Here is everything we know about MAFS Australia Season 14.
When Does It Film? When Does It Air?
Filming runs from mid-July through November 2026, primarily in Sydney. Which means that right now, as you are reading this, a group of strangers is meeting at an altar for the first time somewhere in New South Wales. Somewhere a bride is crying in a confessional. Somewhere a groom is making a decision that will look significantly worse in the edit.
We just do not know who they are yet.
The Promise Nine Made. And What Season 13 Actually Delivered.
To understand what Nine is walking into with Season 14, you need to understand what it promised after Season 12. The network told casting to find everyday Australians. Real people. In it for love, not followers. A casting source told media there would be "a lot less slicked-back hair and neck tattoos and a lot more relatability."
Season 13 delivered an influencer-nurse, a part-time model, a socialite, and a man who spent the back half of the experiment accusing his wife Gia of being there for the followers — before spending the front half of his post-show life proving he also understood the value of a well-timed Instagram post. Scott McCristal hard-launched a new girlfriend three weeks after the Reunion Finale. The chair was still warm, as previously established.
If you want the full breakdown of exactly how many Season 13 cast members were there for love versus there for a grid refresh, we have already done that work here.
The official directive from Nine to Endemol Shine Australia heading into Season 13 was: "Go hard on challenging the participants. Keep the drama out of the courtroom."
A reasonable goal. It is also the same goal they had going into Season 12. The courtroom part keeps not working out.
The New Rules. What Nine Actually Announced.
After Season 12 — after Paul Antoine put his fist through a wall, after NSW Police opened a formal investigation that escalated to a Deputy Commissioner, after Safe Work Australia got involved — Nine overhauled how the show operates. Here is what they announced.
Channel Nine and Endemol Shine Australia stated publicly that they take participant wellbeing "extremely seriously" and that the screening process is "structured" and "multi-stage." The paperwork was filed. The press release was sent. Everyone moved on.
And then the investigation happened.
What the Regulators Actually Found. All of It.
In June 2026, a BBC News investigative report changed the conversation entirely. This was no longer about one groom and one wall. Former female contestants came forward with documentation proving that producers had deliberately paired them with male participants who had prior criminal convictions for violence and drug offences — and that those backgrounds had been actively withheld from them during the pre-filming screening process. The same screening process Nine had just finished announcing was fixed.
The regulatory response was immediate. The Australian Communications and Media Authority launched a formal assessment of Nine's casting procedures. The UK's Ofcom designated the production framework as "deeply concerning." Channel Nine maintained its checks met industry requirements. The regulators continued their assessments regardless.
And then SafeWork NSW issued three formal improvement notices to Endemol Shine Australia. These are not opinion pieces. These are government documents.
We covered the full government safety notice breakdown when it broke. Read the full breakdown here.
And if you want the complete season-by-season record of every criminal conviction, hidden background, and deliberate omission in MAFS Australia history, the Hall of Shame has every receipt.
So What Does Season 14 Look Like From Here?
It looks like a production company that received three formal government safety notices in May 2026, became the subject of a BBC investigation in June 2026, and began filming the next season in July 2026. The timeline is not a coincidence. It is the business model.
The show does not stop. The cast changes. The paperwork gets updated. The cameras keep rolling.
Applications for Season 14 require participants to pass background checks and psychological evaluations. The same checks that were required for Season 13. The same checks that were required for Season 12, when a wall was punched and the police showed up. Whether the execution this time matches the documentation is a question that will be answered sometime around April 2027, when a new cast sits down for their first dinner party and someone inevitably says something that cannot be unsaid.

Season 14 is filming now, premiering in early 2027, and has no confirmed cast yet. What it does have is a production company that has been through two rounds of policy overhauls, three government safety notices, a BBC investigation, and regulatory intervention from two countries — and is still filming. Nine knows exactly what it has on its hands. So do we. The tea will be ready in 2027. We will be here.
